The New Xbox Leaks: Project “Brooklyn” Reveals Their Primordial 2030 Plan
Microsoft is in the octagon to compete with Nvidia's DLSS and even pulled an audible on the destiny of the gaming revolution.
Mid generation refresh or not—2 nm lithography for the CPU would seem like where it should be—just incase you didn’t know the diameter of a double helix DNA strand is 2 nm wide. Yea, as in the DNA inside of you. This is where size doesn’t matter because less is sort of more in this area of µarch.
The future of gaming is literally just a controller.
Microsoft is officially planning to move to cloud gaming by 2030. Remember bringing your 1 MB memory card to your friend’s house? In the future I’m predicting that your controller will be similar to a Hardware Security Module (HSM) with possibly a Solid State Drive (SSD), and if so then that only means that controllers in the future might even have fingerprint readers for authentication. The fact that they also plan on releasing earbuds might mean there will eventually be slots somewhere within the controller itself; at least I would hope so, so it would all be combined seamlessly—which then would mean that internet connection is the only thing missing from the equation. I believe that one day they will even offer a SIM slot for 6g cellular connectivity.
Leaving you to only need a display to connect to until Microsoft’s introduces their XR headset.
When does the new project Brooklyn and Ellewood consoles arrive?
It appears the new Xbox(s) according to the AMD timeframes listed below and released leaked images that they will actually arrive mid to late 2025 at earliest if we really are going to see 2 nm inside a console.
I heard from and insider that they could pop up with other devices (refreshed models) around the holidays this year (2024). But going off the AMD launch timeframes below and the fact that the Zen 5 itself; codenamed “Nirvana” releases next year—so it seems like they won’t really push a new-new device with truly enhanced specs just yet. But who knows.
Zen 2 | 7 nm | 2019
Zen 3 | 7 nm | 2020
Zen 4 | 5 nm | 2022
Zen 5 | 3 nm | 2024
Zen 6 | 2 nm | 2025
The newer consoles will boast (possibly custom) Zen 6 codenamed “Morpheus” CPU’s making it quiet the upgrade from the Zen 2 currently in the S & X. Take this next part with a grain of salt, pepper or sugar but the Zen 2 codename “Vahalla” arrived in 2019 and was in the 2020 release of the Xbox consoles. So I’d say the latest release for the newer systems would be 2026—but let’s hope not.
Following the track-list they have always been released around November so it seems to be right on time—maybe the FTC leak was intentional after all.
Brief Xbox release timeline of the decade
There’s still awhile to gather some details on the upcoming consoles.
Xbox One was release in 2013
Xbox One S was released in 2016
Xbox One X was released in 2017
Xbox Series S was released in 2020
Xbox Series X was released in 2020
One thing that I thought was cool was the Voice Coil Actuators (VCA) haptics that are suppose to double as speakers in the next generation controllers. I don’t use haptics/vibration usually to conserve battery, reduce timing or potential bitrate congestions, but I’ll possibly give these a spin with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect.
Microsoft Business Innovations for the future of the Xbox community
Accessories are looking regularly diverse. They plan on also bringing the following:
Xbox One Handed Controller
Xbox Premium Controller
Xbox Luxury Controller
Xbox 2nd Generation Headset
Xbox Gaming Mouse
Xbox Gaming Keyboard
Xbox Media Remote
Xbox Handheld System
They also want to make sure the shelf’s stay stocked so you won’t have to wait so long to purchase a console like last generation.
That futuristic prognosis I mentioned about Microsoft wanting to do away with consoles altogether within the next decade or so seems strangely cool because you’ll be able to game from lower end computers and mobile devices, but what the hell. First companies take away buttons on our phones and next they remove our devices altogether, I’m sure we will probably still be charged $499 to play and literally own nothing—Imagine getting banned.
Whenever companies started doing away with discs I was like nice that means the game prices will go down being that they aren’t tangible merchandise and companies wont have to purchases a warehouse, the machines, materials, managers, delivery drivers, and maintenance the facility needs to operate but no—to this day digital games are still $70+ and it’s almost become a doubt profit business. In the future it’ll be even worse (or better for corporations), because there will be less artist and developers to pay because they’ve coded away their positions.
This upgrade—like the XSX is still an offer you can’t beat.
From a business standpoint, the power and hardware inside these devices cannot be bargained with. Without tweaking the hell out of a OS and finding the right spot for your gaming settings to get the max FPS like usual it will become a part time job—all that time plus effort to find the some GDDR6 RAM, fan, CPU and a GPU at the right price.. Yea, Goodluck. Microsoft is promising the muscle to handle the next-gen demands again already makes it almost unfair to other commercial products to even try and come close to the power for the price.
Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth—the new game systems are suppose to arrive with BT/BLE 5.2 which is peculiar yet common but let’s just hope Generic Access Profile (GAP) for Bluetooth 5.2 aren’t being raped by numerous exploits in 2025.
Bluetooth 4.2 released in 2014
Version for the current consoles
Bluetooth 5.2 released in 2019
Version for the next consoles
Should I upgrade to the new Xbox?
If your current system is pushing at least 60-90fps and you don’t want to scoop out some money to stay in the loop of capitalism then don’t. You know what they say, it’s not the instrument—it’s the musician. Lower graphics sometimes have an advantage, like whenever someone is trying to hide in brush; from their side they are sticking out between branches and from your view you can clearly see them in front of a 2D graphic of a bush. Plenty of gamers have smashed with less back in the day and maybe even today so whatever; it’s up to you.
If you can or really want to, do it—I plan on it, even with the speculation of the RTX 5090.
But I’ll probably wait a few weeks for typical malfunctions and issues to be situated, or.. a reasonable price to come across because you better believe someone somewhere will be getting their bots ready to GET and POST on BestBuy, Microsoft and the other TLD’s.
A few more reasons to upgrade:
ML Based Super Resolution
No more digital images or pixelated structures, just about everything will have higher definition to peep.
Next Generation DirectX Raytracing
Reflections, and artificial photons might really be eye to eye with the bounds of physics.
Dynamic Global Illumination
You might catch yourself admiring gradient sunsets and landscapes more and more as you are emerged deeper into the prime quality.
Micropolygon Rendering Optimizations
Scenery fidelity: reduced flicker and load times to help you focus more on what should be catching your eye instead of visual artifact interpolation.
Proprietary AI Upscaling
Turning 2k into 4k and 4k into 8k without straining the GPU, think of it like a virtual magnifying glass enlarging a smaller image for clarity.
Summary
Other projects from Microsoft to keep your eye for unless they change them is: Project Actium (Elite Controller), Project Zarasai (Luxury Controller), Project Waterloo & Mills (Audio Portfolio Expansion), Project Uther (Console Customization via XDL) and a few more. I’m keeping my eyes on this one: SW Security - QCOM DAWN module (Mousatee). A few other improvements to look forward to are:
Controller Fast Charging
Addition 3p Accessories
802.11 Wi-Fi 6E
Xbox Wireless Version 2
I guess one good thing about the leak (from a confidentiality standpoint) is it took a little over a year to go mainstream lol.
